Jury report: Kinderarbeid - Lia van de Laar
A wonderful portrait of three girls. They are somewhat coarse in form. However, because it is carried throughout the painting it is not distracting. The focus is on the faces. All three with a somber facial expression. It mas have been quite a task to paint them like that. The painting is beautiful in color. Carefully chosen. The colours harmonise beautifully with each other. It is good that a dark border is still visible below. Because this way it vaguely refers to a bottom on which the girls are standing. This work was made with a lot of love and has an original starting point.
